In the remote valleys of the Hindukush lies the valley of Kalash. Rumored to be the descendent of Macedonian King Alexander’s army, the valley is the home to the last members of the Kalash tribe.
Numbering around 5,000 the inhabitants live in the picturesque Birir, Bumburet and Rumbur Valleys. Considered Animists, they do not follow any religion. People of Kalash believe in the power of nature, refuged by the mountains surrounding their villages, and the changing season providing different food and fruits for sustenance.
Chilam Joshi festival is a celebration of spring, nature, and the Kalash people’s heritage. It features rituals, dancing, feasting, and singing.
The Uchal festival is a significant cultural celebration for the Kalash tribe that takes place annually in August to mark the harvest of wheat and barley.
Choimus Festival is the Kalash winter festival and is celebrated after the Kalash finish their fieldwork and store their cheese, fruit, vegetables and grains for the year.
With mesmerizing views of the Trich Mir mountain all around, the trip can also include visit to Gol National Park, Garam Chasma and Qaqlast Meadows near Booni,

Drive back to Naran if Babusar Pass is Open or via KKH to Beesham.
