While trip to Hunza is linear, Skardu is a starburst – places of interest in all directions such as the Deosai Plateau, natural landscape, elusive valleys, ancient architecture, enchanted lakes, and a deserts in the middle of mountains.

We will be visiting the Ghanche district, going further north in Hushe Valley. In Shigar we will spend time visiting the district and enjoying activities on one of the highest cold deserts in the region. Our journey climax will be an off-road ride to one of the highest plateaus at 4000 m, Deosai Plain, also called Land of the Giants.

Though easily accessible by road requiring 2-days, we recommend that the journey starts by taking an exciting flight to Skardu. This will give us ample time to explore the Skardu region to the fullest.

Spring, Summer and Autumn are the most beautiful seasons in Skardu. Winters are harsh. Do note that access to Deosai plains is only for 3-4 months (July-October).
